Building Your Employees' Mentality!

I found this great article from Forbes about building up your mental "toughness" as a leader to face anything in the workplace! I thought it was an interesting read and wanted to share it with you.
Forbes advises 4 steps:
  1. Focus on the Mission
  2. Encourage Exercise
  3. Teach Emotional Control
  4. Practice Perseverance
The two most key items here in my own experience has been focusing on the mission and emotional control. It's tough when a project seems to be going on longer than planned and growing bigger than its scope; it's even more difficult when an employee has had enough and needs to let off steam. We all feel frustrated and overwhelmed at time, and it's your job a great leader to say it is okay to feel that way, but we must communicate appropriately and calmly to find the issue. In that way, the team can reach a productive, effective solution - and focus on the real goal. I think it's often easy to "lose the forest among the trees" and that is main challenge for an employee's mental "toughness". Be the best leader you can be and help people reach their goal and persevere!
